A sample of water under study was found to boil at 102°C at normal temperature and pressure. Is the water pure? Will this water freeze at 0°C? Comment.
The boiling point of pure water is 100o C at 1 atm. Consequently, pure water freezes at 0o C. So, the sample of water which boils at 102o C at normal temperature and pressure is not pure water. It will freeze below 0o C.
