Explain the procedures; police must follow to detain a person.
1. A person who is arrested and detained in custody will have to be informed of the reason for such arrest and detention.
2. A person who is arrested and detained shall be produced before the nearest magistrate with in a period of 24 hours of arrest.
3. Such a person has the right to consult a lawyer and engage a lawyer for his defense.
