A flame cell is a specialized excretory cell found in the simplest freshwater invertebrates, including flatworms (Platyhelminthes), rotifers and nemerteans. they have a tuft of cilia which continuously beats to clear the nitrogenous waste which gives an appearance of burning flame. Taenia is the common tapeworm belonging to phylum Platyhelminthes.
